The item was listed on your site to ship within 2 weeks, when it did not it was almost impossible to get anyone to respond as to why or when it would ship. Emails regarding shipping had to be sent several times, phone call was left on hold for over 20 minutes and the website shipping status never updated. We only received response after sending an additonal email through 'contact us' on the website, but was it only because the item finally shipped? Also we did not like the FedEx Home Delivery option that was chosen or would have preferred being told about it at least since it has different delivery times (nights & weekends) when we specifically chose delivery to a work address (weekdays!). You should also consider selling specific accessories with the orders, in our case a charcoal filter kit with the range hood we purchased. It would have saved us from the difficulty we are now continuing to have in finding/ordering this filter. I understand that the manufacturer may be at fault for the slow delay of shipping, however you are at fault for the service we received and for leading us to believe before ordering that it would be quicker.

I purchased an item on 12/05/06, I waited for quite a while and it did not come so I called the company on the 18th. I got an answering machine. I left a message. On the 19th I recieved a EMAIL! dated the 11th that stated that the product was no longer available and they cancelled my order. Since they did not notify me until the 19th I was unable to get this gift in time from somewhere else for Christmas. I am very unimpressed with this company.

GE gas cooktop was holding up my start date for putting in my granite countertop. Although time was tight, I decided to buy at NY Living.com even with some negative comments from various reviewers; wishful thinking that my experience will be fine. As soon as I had ordered from their website (the website clearly stated that it was in STOCK), I got an email from them stating that the GE gas cooktop's ship date will be delayed by one week. I wrote them an email but never heard back from them - tried calling them but hard to get through - when I got a customer service, they were'nt too polite and seem indifferent in terms of whether or not they have my business. Not much help and I had waited a week to see if they got the cooktop within a week. They told me to wait till Wednesday and call back to see if the unit is in. I did and guess what? They didn't have it and told me to wait till until end of the week. I decided to cancel, not having much confidence in what they were telling me. I will never buy anything from NY Living.com again - saving $50 or so dollar without much customer service...not worth the trouble.

Seems to be easier for NY Living to deliver a range and oven than a ten inch skillet. No confermation of shipping on their web site, and no tracking information. Although they have billed my credit card a little over two weeks ago, they still haven't delivered the product, or given me any shipping or tracking information. I would say that it'll be a cold day in hell before I order from this company again, but it won't be that soon. D. Padgett

the reason i ordered from nyliving was that they set a delivery time of 5-7 days. i did not like that on late friday afternoon they sent me an email telling me of an additional 7 day delay in my order. this was the day after i made the effort to call and check on the status of my order and was assured not problems with it. and if you want to know i did not think their call center closing early before the holiday was very good for customer satisfaction.

When I contacted NY Living regarding damage on the front of my grill the service was very polite. I was advised I could email claims pictures and a claim would be opened. I did so that very day more than 2 weeks ago and have not heard a word. I followed up with an additional email 1 week ago and have gotten no contact. For a large purchase and somewhere I would have bought a lot more items I was very disappointed. Lastly, the delivery company does not unload the grill from the truck but just delivers it and says I need to pay extra if I couldn't lift it off. I was advised by customer care that this was standard and it should be communicated better. As a result - to unload my more than 200lb grill I had to inconvenience and rally up my neighbors. I was lucky people were home but had this been known I could have planned for my husband to be here.
Here is a negative review that I found on Dealtime.

PLEASE READ - HORRIFIC & HORRIBLE LIZMADISON.COM - terrible customer service & delivery Sep 22, 2005
| UPDATE: TWO
WEEKS after the washer/dryer was delivered the very same delivery guy
(with a friend) came to pick it up (finally!) I tried to hold my tongue,
but had to ask him why he lied. He said that he wasn't going to lose his
job over this. I recorded the conversation, although I don't know what
good it will do. Now, almost two week SINCE they picked it up (about a month since the original delivery) I STILL HAVE NOT gotten credited back on my credit card (and I have called nyliving.com/lizmadison.com twice) It's in dispute with my credit card co. now. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!! ORIGINAL POST: This was, by far, the most HORRIFIC shopping experience I have EVER had. I've spent the last 18 hours crying, yelling and stressing out because of lizmadison.com. I ordered a washer/dryer combo from them on Sept 19th. I live nearby and the shipping was free (with this particular item) so I paid extra for them to deliver it to my apt. *up 2 flights of stairs. When the man showed up with the appliance, I was shocked that there was only one man to move a 200lb appliance. He assured me it was fine. The first problem was he took the appliance out of the box to get it up the stairs. When the delivery man (who is part of lizmadison.com - not a separate co.)got to the second floor, the appliance slipped and fell back down the WHOLE flight of stairs - and slammed against the wall. The delivery man cursed and apologized and pushed the dislodged bits back into place. I told him I no longer wanted the machine (even on the box it clearly states "do not drop") and here it had fallen down a flight of stairs. The man was distraught, and asked if we could take it up to my apt to "see if it still worked". I said "no" but he said "I'm already half way up to your apt. It's easier getting down then up, so let's just try it. I can always take it down again". Fine. He brought it up, and everything looked fine (except for some scratches) but I told him I didn't want it. It was too expensive to take that risk of internal damage. From there it went WAY downhill. I spoke to two (named Jack & Charlie) of his "managers" (one who works in CUSTOMER SERVICE for lizmadison)and they both told me that it was untrue - the appliance never fell down the stairs, that I'm over-reacting to some scratches during transportation. I was appalled. The delivery man said he told them the truth (which actually wasn't true -it came out later that he said it "lightly slipped down 2 stairs"), that Charlie was trying to "put me in a bad place"...and then at that very moment, he got a call from Charlie that ended up as a SCREAMING match on his phone in my kitchen. I told them I'm not signing anything - I don't want the machine - it's clearly damaged. Jack said - "take it for the night - test it out - and we'll talk tomorrow & pick it up if you don't want it - the delivery man has other deliveries and must go." I told Jack at least twice (while the delivery guy was still there) that I didn't want the item, but he pushed & pushed back on me. I said (yet again) I'm not signing anything. He said fine, and the delivery man left. After he left, I noticed dent in the side, and one of the adjustable legs is broken (which is bad because my floors are a little warped and it needs to be level.) This morning, Sept 22 2005, I called the customer service "manager" - Jack - and said "I don't want the machine." Honest to God, he called me a "liar" for saying it fell down the stairs. He said "there is NO way that it fell down 15 stairs, so stop lying". I, of course, LOST IT. He was SO patrionizing telling me to "get myself under control" (I was crying), "calm down" and "settle down". To wrap up a long story, he is SUPPOSE to have someone come and pick it up today. He said I would get a refund for everything but shipping. I told him it was "free shipping" and he said if I'm returning something (even if it's damaged) I have to pay for it. To the tune of $147.50. I am disputing everything & have reported them to the BBB. Be warned - do not shop with Lizmadison.com. (now called nyliving.com)

item was to be a christmas gift. after placing order
online on dec. 13 i waited several days (no email confirmation was ever sent) and then checked my order status online. order was "processing". checked online again dec. 23 and order was still "processing". contacted customer service by phone and was told item had been discontinued (store had still not sent any email and no apology was offered when told this). similar items were then offered as options. i asked if shipping charges would be waived or if faster shipping would be offered but i was told they could only send them with my original shipping service: UPS ground, 2-7 days, $7.75. customer service was polite but otherwise indifferent to the situation. i declined and cancelled my order. |

I recommend that LizMadison be avoided at all costs.by latergator, February 28, 2005

I ordered a toaster through LizMadison online on
February 11, and requested 2-3 day delivery. My confirmation was quickly
emailed, with the notation that the item was "in warehouse." On February 13 my
"shipped order email confirmation" was sent. By February 24 I realized I had not
heard from the intended recipient so I checked with LizMadison via email. I
later received a phone message from Victoria at ext 262 / 800 381 3178, saying
my order had not been shipped from the factory, but I could still pay for 2-3
delivery once the shipment went out. Now, on February 28, Sean Daniels at the
same LizMadison phone number says my order was canceled on February 25, and
notice to me probably would be sent today via email that "could take 24 hours to
arrive." No supervisor was available for me to speak to, despite my insistent
requests. "You're not listening to me," I was told. |

DO NOT EVER BUY at this store NEVER no matter the
prices appear to be. They use a very dishonest politic about stock. When you buy
at their Internet site, all the products shows like available but later when you
are supouse to receive what you all ready paid for; you receive a email notify
the products are at BACKORDER, and they can be at that status for weeks.

My experience with Liz Madison was confusing and I am

The above questions are very misleading for my
situation. My ONLY problem with the company was that they were not geared for
speedy shipping. I placed my order on December 6th and called to see if it had
been shipped out over a week later. It had NOT been shipped and even though it
was said to be "In Stock", the CS rep said it would not be shipped until the
week AFTER Christmas. I cancelled my order at that moment, so most of the
questions above do not apply. We ordered several other items from other
companies via the internet this holiday season and received all within a week to
a little over a week... so, I feel personally that 3 to 4 weeks is not
reasonable. |
